The OnlineXcellence programme will be run via a number of our partners, the first of those being Central College of Commerce in Glasgow who will support businesses across the greater Glasgow region looking to achieve OnlineXcellence. Other OnlineXcellence centres are being considered for Lanarkshire, the east coast of Scotland, Tayside and Grampian.
During 2010 if you are a business owner who intends setting up an online business, have an internet business idea, need to create a business website or looking to start an online business in the UK, then start by signing up to the OnlineXcellence program. Once you have registered an OnlineXcellence Internet Business Growth Professional will contact you and discuss your online business plan with you.
This is not a free training program and the amount of time you spend doing the training modules will depend on whether you intend to operate a brochure or ecommerce website. And depending on what you need to achieve in order to manage competently your website will be a deciding factor in how long it will take the average learner to complete the programs training content.
The program aims to offer a qualification framework that is being developed to recognise this program as an accrediting qualification.
The framework for achieving this qualification will be published here in the coming weeks.
The website developer community at a later stage will be able to participate in this training program but the overarching priority is to help businesses achieve significant growth through additional web based sales opportunities.
